The Month in Photos: December 2010

December was sooo much fun and went by so fast! In between the holidays
I managed to have some fun outings and ended up taking tons of photos for
the month. Had Kerri’s art show, The Getty, Magic Mountain, and The Huntington
Library, among a few other things here and there. Unfortunately there were a lot
of other personal things going on as well, but luckily we were still able to have
some fun and try to forget about certain things. It was a fun way to end the year!

My first photo on my iPhone 4. Of course it had to be Loki.
This is his typical day, looking outside wishing he could be
out there all the time.

♥ Autumn Tree & Dinner at Claim Jumpers 121110
IMG_0234
I had gone to help Nanny with her closet and spent the night.
The next morning, as we were walking to her car, we were parked
in front of this beautiful tree. I just had to take a quick photo. I
just adore the colors!

In any case, Nanny was dropping me off since I had to be ready by
early afternoon to go meet up with N’s parents. We were doing early
dinner for N’s birthday at Claim Jumpers. The food is always good there.
This was while waiting for our food & playing with my new camera.

♥ WOCA Art show 121110

Kerri was showing some of her new pieces here so we went to check
out her work as well as the rest of the exhibit. They had some really
nice art.

After the art show we headed back to Long Beach to meet up with
Nanny’s friend for a drink. We ended up at E.J. Malloys for a little
while and then went back to Nanny’s place to hang out. It was a fun
evening and night!

♥ Rainy Day at The Getty with Kerri 121910
IMG_0331
Kerri had invited me to go to The Getty for the day with her. She was
very much trying to avoid having to go Xmas shopping, although it
was a very wet and rainy day. Being that I always like going and didn’t
have anything else going on that day, I decided to dress warm, bundle
up and go.

IMG_0334

IMG_0335
There was literally no view from The Getty. It was all covered in fog.

These were some huge tapestries. I felt really small in this area since
everything was so big and opulent.

Ok, this is probably my favorite from the day. I couldn’t stop looking
at it and the detail. This was really beautifully done.

All the clocks were really neat to see. These old lavish and beautiful
clocks. I definitely found myself gravitating towards the clocks.

Going in and out of the buildings was a bit difficult. My umbrella
almost flew out of my hands because of the crazy wind and rain.
We pretty much ran from one to the other. This photo though was
on our way out and the rain had finally subsided. It was unfortunate
we couldn’t see the garden area or walk out there.

It was definitely a fun day, even though it was raining. Luckily there
were hardly any people there so it worked out to our behalf. Considering
this was Kerri’s first time here, I made sure to mention that we needed to
return on a clear and sunny day so she can really enjoy all of The Getty.

♥ Clouds on Xmas Day 122510
IMG_0466
Heading to Tish’s’ place for Xmas dinner, it was a very cloudy day.
I managed to catch this quick photo on our way to the house. By
nighttime it started raining.

♥ Magic Mountain with Nanny & Tori 122610
IMG_0467
Tori was visiting for two weeks during the Xmas holiday. Why not
plan a trip to Magic Mountain during winter, haha! Nanny and her
invited me. I can never say no to Magic Mountain. It’s tooo much damn
fun! So we ended up going the day after Xmas. This was our second ride
of the day. This was our first time on the Terminator ride. I wasn’t expecting
the speed of this ride! That was one hell of a fast ride. I liked it! Can you tell?

IMG_0469
This is Tori with her Xmas sweater 😉 Once we were done with the rides,
we made a stop at the Photo booth for some fun photos! In the meantime
we also took photos while waiting for them to come out and hung out.
We were being super silly and it was fun!

And here is proof of our photo booth fun. What an awesome day!

♥ Day at The Huntington Library 123110
DSCN7694

Ahh the last day of the year. It definitely came too soon! Anyways,
this was Tori’s last day in town so Nanny invited us to The Huntington
for the day. It was a perfect day to go. The weather was just right and
there wasn’t too many people also. That’s always great! Well we got up
bright and early, got ready and headed out.

DSCN7695
We wanted to check out the Bukowski exhibit plus wander around
the gardens for the day. We started off with the house first, then
did tons of walking around the gardens and finally we checked out
the exhibit.

IMG_0487
And I must mention, the sky was perfectly covered wih scattered clouds.
They deserve their own Cloud & Sky Junkie update [soon, I promise].

IMG_0499

IMG_0505
We couldn’t stop going through all the various books and their beautiful
spines. So classy and elegant! These I wanted really bad, along with all the
various history books from around the world.

By this time we were tired from all the walking and getting hungry for food.
Actually, no, we were already hungry. But we had to see the exhibit.

IMG_0635
The Bukowski exhibit was small but very cool. I really enjoyed reading
the fan letters and Bukowski’s personal letters. This was his typewriter
and radio.

IMG_0638
Such a fun day!!! Really glad we went and spent a full day here. There
was still so much that we didn’t get to see, so there has to be another
day trip here.
